Hello :3 this is my entry for belliko-art.deviantart.com/jou…! This foxfan is so adorable it hurts <3 I don't have a proper name for him yet so for now I'll call him shiro :3 here's the little story I have for him c:
As soon as the chest opened shiro wanted to explore. So he said goodbye to his fellow foxfans set off in a journey to learn all there was to learn about Japan and world over. He learned the world from a kind monk. Shiro had been snowed in his snow den, the entrance collapsed and his little paws couldn't dig himself out. Shiro kept yapping but began to become weaker and colder. Suddenly light! Shiro closed his eyes and sensed it was an elderly man. The man grabbed shiro gently and wrapped him up inside of a blanket, minding his tail. Shiro began to warm and trust this stranger and with that fell into sleep.
A month after meeting the monk, shiro had learned so much at the shrine! The monk just referred to himself as the monk as he had given up his name for his religion. The shrine sat deep in mountains and sat on a large cliff called the cliff of souls ( Tamashī no kurifu). Shiro sat with the monk daily to learn everything there was to learn about Japan and its legends. Within time shiro learned how to read, write and speak in broken Japanese. He learned to make talismans and that was his specialty, makings talismans for hope and good fortune to help those in need. But, one cold night the monk had fallen sick. The other monks were frightened for the head monk and didn't have the medicine to help their master. Fearing for the monk, shiro offered to go down the mountain to go to the sister shrine where they had the medicine that could help the monk. Shiro traveled all night and day to get the medicine to save his dear friend. But shiro was too late. Mourning, shiro curled up beside his master, shedding tears for his friend he will never talk to again. Shiro heard a crinkle and looked up from his paws. A letter? Shiro unfolded it anddiscovered a letter from his master! He read and discovered that the monk had named him the next head of the shrine and left to him the redwood brush, the monk's own personal calligraphy brush that he used to bring luck and happiness to people. The monk told shiro to never give up and to stay strong. Become a leader that people look up to with admiration and happiness. Shiro sniffled and went to the monk's bag and found the redwood brush. On that day, shiro made a vow to make the most potent and most helpful talismans and to make sure the shrine never fell into ruin. Present day, shiro has run the shrine for years and has made the most successful talismans and has kept his promise to the monk. Every four months shiro travels between the main shrine and the sister shrine to help all those he passes on the road and those who go to the shrine. Shiro is a quiet foxfan but is very kind and shines with goodness and happiness. When not meeting with the other monks or making talismans shiro likes to sit beside the monk's grave, a cherry blossom tree at the tip of the cliff of souls. Shiro loves to stargaze as well
